US says Chinese firms extracted billions of tokens from frontier AI models

U.S. intelligence agencies reported that six Chinese AI companies conducted large-scale model distillation attacks against American frontier AI models starting in late 2024, extracting billions of tokens to replicate advanced capabilities.
